Real or Virtual? Matterport Game

Real or rendering? It’s one of our favorite games to play. The last time we played the game we even stumped BDX CEO, Tim Costello. Success! Today we’ve taken screenshots of a physically staged matterport tour and a virtually staged matterport tour for another take on the real or virtual game.

Could you guess which one is virtual? If you guessed number two then you are correct. The virtual staged matterport is a great representation, but most likely isn’t fooling anyone. We think that’s okay—hear us out. Demand is high and inventory isn’t sticking around long enough to be staged in a traditional way. You might be wondering what the value is for staging a matterport tour when inventory is in such demand. Here are our top reasons you might want to consider it.

Home Shoppers Still Need To Understand Homes Spatially

Have you ever seen photos where someone places a penny next to an object so that you can get a sense of size? Furniture is the same tool for a room. Shoppers have a very difficult time reading plans and understanding dimensions. Furniture helps relay the concept of an open floor plan. If you sell empty rooms, you aren’t doing your homes justice.

Parade of Homes

Most building associations are in parade planning mode right now for live and virtual events. This is great news for our industry as most builders see the benefits of participating in a parade for years to come! The truth remains that many markets have low inventory and some builders have buyers lined up for to-be-built homes. Don’t let that stop you from participating in a virtual parade. We can virtually stage your matterport tour for a win-win-win. Your buyer gets to move in on time, you get to participate in your parade (virtual tours are generally up for 10 months!), and future buyers will get the opportunity to learn about your homes.

Turn Any Spec Home Into A Virtual Model

Remember the crazy statistic we reported in December of 2021 on virtual shoppers? It seems like a dream, but 63% of buyers bought a home site unseen. We also know that many times, 30, 40, 50, 60 and even 70% of home shoppers looking at homes in a market could be searching from outside of the county or outside of the state. If you don’t know your market’s remote shopper statistics, email us for a free assessment. You will be amazed! A virtually staged matterport tour can serve as your virtual model to reach out of town and remote shoppers.
