Builder Homesite, Inc, (BHI), an Austin-based digital marketing, media and technology firm, announced today it has named Kevin Krone to its board of directors. Krone is a marketing industry veteran who was previously the Chief Marketing Officer of Southwest Airlines Co. BHI is dedicated to helping companies embrace digital transformation in every aspect of business. BHI began working in the home building industry over 17 years ago and now provides first-class technology and marketing solutions across a range of industries.

Krone spent 24 years in various positions at Southwest Airlines. As vice president and chief marketing officer, he was responsible for all aspects of Southwest’s marketing strategy and execution, including the oversight of the company’s brand development, advertising, promotions, mobile and digital strategy and execution.

Prior to his promotion to vice president and chief marketing officer, Krone led marketing, sales and distribution at Southwest, including the technical development and marketing of southwest.com as the first major United States airline to sell travel online. He also oversaw the re-launch of the improved Rapid Rewards loyalty program in 2011, which powers one of the most successful VISA© co-brand credit card programs in the world.

Krone received his MBA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He serves on the Board of Directors for UpLift, Inc, a digital marketing company that leverages financial technologies in the travel industry; and on the Advisory Board for Tredence, Inc., an analytics services and solutions company serving some of the leading Fortune 500 clients. Previously, Krone served on the board of Home Away, Inc, which was acquired by Expedia in 2015. Krone resides in Dallas with his wife of 15 years and three young children.
