BDX Partners With Opendoor to Create a More Seamless New Home Transaction on NewHomeSource

BDX’s is the largest collection of new homes and builders in the country, and our goal is simple, to help home builders sell more homes. This means making the home buying process easier and more streamlined for shoppers.

Over the years we have continued to innovate on the site, to drive both sales and simplicity in the process. Today we are announcing another important step in the journey - a partnership with Opendoor that will help alleviate many of the friction points in the process. Since 2017, Opendoor’s Homebuilder Trade-In program has given new home buyers the opportunity to shop, build, and buy the home of their dreams without having to list their current home, deal with contingencies, and face the financial uncertainty of having two down payments outstanding. Today’s announcement means that we have connected the thousands of homes on with the Opendoor trade-in experience.

“Buying a new home is one of the most important and exciting decisions that someone will make in their lifetime and our goal on has been to make that process as easy as possible and eliminate the friction points along the way,” said Drew Leakey, VP of Digital Operations, for BDX, the company behind NewHomeSource. “Partnering with Opendoor helps us accomplish this goal and will simplify the home shopping process. Not only will this partnership bring our visitors one step closer to new home ownership it also helps our builders sell more new homes, faster.”

When homebuyers search for a new construction build on, they can shop, tour and buy online in just a few steps. Starting today, they also have the option to trade-in their existing home with a sale to Opendoor. They simply request an offer from Opendoor, receive a preliminary offer in minutes, and can seamlessly close on both homes in the same day when their construction is complete.

“A few reasons why we are so excited to announce this partnership. First, we know that for consumers, selling their existing home in order to buy the next home can be a stressful and uncertain experience, said Derek Schairer, Co-General Manager of Homebuilder Partnerships at Opendoor. “Second, we believe that every consumer should have the opportunity to move seamlessly without managing two separate transactions.“
