Weary Marketers—We’ve Got 5 Social Content Ideas To Jumpstart Your Week

Monday is here and hopefully your content calendar is planned and you’re set for the week, but for all of you that may have had a few unexpected things pop up last week that got in the way of planning, we’ve got a few ideas for you.

Sure, you can hire your niece to post for you, but effective social media marketing is about driving results. We’re including tips that will drive engagement and are proven to draw shoppers down the funnel. The important thing to remember about social media is that the funnel is aimed at reaching the buyer that is two years out from buying their dream home to the one that could close by the weekend. The best strategies are a balance of mid, upper, and lower funnel content.

  1. Video

Video is still one of the most effective ways to engage new home shoppers. Short creative videos that are well produced should be part of your quarterly plan. We call them social media shorts and we’ve seen home builders reach 1 million views on their social media videos alone. If you need something quicker, Facebook Live is a great fill-in. It’s authentic and can engage buyers that may not be able to make it to visit your model home right away but could plan a trip for the weekend or start the conversation early.

 

 

  1. Kitchen Decorating Contest

This is one of our favorite content ideas because it gets people engaged on social media and your website. If you have a room visualizer you can post the link and challenge them to visit your website to design their favorite kitchen or bathroom. The best part is that home shoppers will need to enter their name and email to save their design. You can then have them submit their design and select the best one to be featured and offer a gift card to the winner.

  1. Floor Plan Designing Contest

This one is similar to number 2, but with a twist! Pandemic life has redefined the way that we live in our homes. For this contest, challenge your social media friends to design the perfect floor plan for quarantine life. Simply post a link to your interactive floor plan designer and have them design the perfect floor plan, save and send the floor plan with a brief description of why they chose the selected floor plan for a chance to win a gift card. You will get valuable insight into what home shoppers are looking for and a few email addresses too!

  1. Hot Spot Your Renderings

Everyone knows that increasing your time on site equals higher conversions. You can turn your interior renderings into a treasure trove of information by adding hotspots. Link to manufacturer content, styling details, and more. Make sure when you post on social media you screenshot with the expanded hotspot open to give your friends an idea of what they might find when they visit your interactive link.

  1. Before and After

Create an animated gif using a before and after slider like the one below to show before and after images of homes with and without furniture, your model from studs to finished, or show a used home kitchen vs. a new home to showcase the benefits of new over used. There is a lot you can do and there are plenty of free programs and website plugins to accomplish the task.
